Junior Section

KMRC Juniors meet most Saturday afternoons from 1.00 to run their rolling stock on the test track, and to learn how to operate the established Club layouts (see Layouts page).  They are encouraged to help operate established layouts on our open days, and some have joined a team to operate at exhibitions.  A junior section club layout is also currently under construction.

2010 Saturday Openings:

Jan: 2 & 30 (9 & 16 cancelled due to essential repairs to electrics in the building being carried out by the landlords)

Feb: 6, 20 & 27

Mar: 6, (20/21 Main Exhibition) & 27

Apr: 3, 10 & 17

May: 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29

Juniors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian, and as a result, the Club now inadvertantly has a "parents' social group" who chat, read, drink tea and use their laptop computers on Saturday afternoons.  Handmade quilts have made their appearance and one or two parents have even started to model themselves...

Members of the Junior Section built a small but fully scenic layout for the 2008 Exhibition, and are now engaged on a more ambitious and realistic end-to-end project.  Pictures will be added as this develops.
