Keighley Club History
Founded in 1974, Keighley MRC has over 80 members of all ages, both local and as far away as Canada!
Over the years, the Club has produced layouts in a variety of scales which have been exhibited in both the UK and Europe, and currently offers an opportunity to get involved with railway modelling in any scale. Many of the layouts have been featured in the modelling press over the years.
Our members can cater for the absolute beginner to the advanced amateur
Our Clubrooms are the largest in Yorkshire, situated in Keighley Business Centre, Knowle Mill just outside the centre of the town, offering over 8,000sq feet of space with both goods and passenger lift access. Taking up half of the top floor of a spinning mill has given the scope for many features a lot of clubs could only hope for
The club rooms as we took them over before the refit
The Clubrooms are situated on one floor with good natural light and a level surface allowing over 21 layouts to be
permanently erected for running and testing, as well as providing space for new ones under construction
K.M.R.C has a fully equipped social area as large as some model railway clubs, for you to meet and chat with other
club members, watch videos/DVD's of railways and transport subjects
There is a canteen for light refreshment and soft drinks. Disabled access and toilets. Free secure parking
More photos to follow of the excellent facilites that we have are our disposal !
The multi-gauge track testing facility. From 2mm - G Scale

Club activities are held every Tuesday & Thursday evening 7.00 - 10.30pm and Saturday afternoons 1 - 5pm, the junior section meets on Saturday. Juniors must be 10 years or over and uner 16s must be acompanied by a responsible adult (who need not be a member) See junior layout page for more information
Individual groups also meet on separate occasions. We also host meetings for specialist groups, and assisted other local clubs with a venue when their facilities were unavailable
The Club enjoys an enviable reputation in the railway modelling circuit for its open days held in the club rooms and the quality of its annual exhibition, held annually in March in Keighley
